The Unix version, XTide is used as the 'engine' for a number of web based tidal predictors. In November 2003 the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC) based at the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory in Liverpool granted the creator of XTide permission to use its tidal height data to derive its own harmonic constants. Consequently, predictions from WXTide32 will differ from those produced officially for the BODC. The main determinant of differences from predictions remains local weather conditions.
